Arizona Trail Trek- Gabe Zimmerman TH to Colossal Cave- Arizona Trail Day Hike

Join Sirena as she continues her 800 mile Arizona Trail Trek from Mexico to Utah on the Arizona National Scenic Trail!
We will begin our hike at the Gabe Zimmerman Memorial Trailhead along Marsh Station road. Sirena's group will then descend into beautiful Cienega Creek before traversing saguaro studded desert toward the Arizona Trail Day event at La Posta Quemada Ranch in Colossal Cave Mountain Park. The fun will continue into the evening for hikers interested in enjoying the night, camping out at the La Sevilla Campground.
Moderate- 4.7 miles with a 500 foot total elevation gain.
Please come prepared with with everything that you will need to dayhike this passage. You must provide your own equipment and food.
- At least one liter of water.
- Snacks for the day.
- Headlamp/ Flashlight
- Sun Hat.
- Comfortable hiking attire.
- A positive attitude.
On the day of this hike, a shuttle will be available at Colossal Cave State Park. It will depart from the Cowboy Parking Lot at Colossal Cave for the hike's starting point (Gabe Zimmerman trailhead) promptly at 9:00 AM.
Directions to Starting Point (Gabe Zimmerman trailhead): Take I-10 to exit 281, AZ 83, and drive north following the frontage road, Marsh Station Road for three miles to the trailhead parking area.
Directions to Ending Point (Colossal Cave): Take I-10 east from Tucson to exit 279 (the Vail/Wentworth exit), turn north, and follow the signs for about 7 miles. Follow signs to La Posta Quemada Ranch and park in the lot with the cowboy statue.
Donations are greatly appreciated and will go toward Sirena's campaign to raise $20,000 for the Arizona Trail Association to maintain, promote and protect the Arizona National Scenic Trail.
