Description

The Food & Farm Finance Forum, presented by Good Food Finder AZ and the Local First Arizona Foundation, is an annual opportunity for those involved in and contributing to Arizona’s local food system to gather, network, learn, and develop new skill sets.

The forum features nationally-acclaimed speakers with experience in farming, food system development, local food marketing and building local and living economies, and bridges the gap between farmers, local food entrepreneurs and potential investment and/or access to capital. It brings together food producers, food system advocates, policy makers, and funders to grow the capacity of Arizona food producers and entrepreneurs, forge alliances and partnerships that build collaboration around healthy local food systems, and cultivate healthy eating habits that demonstrate the connection between food, health, community and the environment.

“Turning Dreams into Reality: Starting a Farm in Arizona” is a two-day exploratory workshop for beginning and prospective farmers. Attendees will learn about the opportunities and challenges of starting from scratch, meet local farmers and visit their farms, and build an inventory of their personal and community resources they need to be successful. For more information please contact University of Arizona's Cooperative Extension at kyoung@cals.arizona.edu.

More details about this year's Food & Farm Finance Forum can be found on the Local First Arizona Foundation website.

This event is made possible through funds from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Organizer Local First Arizona Foundation

Organizer of Arizona Food & Farm Finance Forum

The Local First Arizona Foundation (LFAF) is a statewide organization focused on community and economic development. We champion self-sufficient, healthy, and prosperous communities. LFAF merged with the Arizona Rural Development Council in 2013 and has proceeded to expand the Rural Policy Forum each year.

LFAF is the 501c3 nonprofit sister organization of Local First Arizona, a coalition of over 3,000 locally owned businesses throughout the state. Together, we educate consumers, stakeholders, business leaders, and policymakers about the significant economic, civic, and cultural benefits of strong local economies.
