The AZ Black Rodeo begins at 1:00pm. Gates open at 11:30am. The Rodeo will last just over 2 hours. General bleacher seating so you may want to bring a seat cushion or blanket.

The Arizona Black Rodeo is one of the largest and most popular African-American events in Arizona, attracting over 9,000 rodeo fans across a weekend of Western experiences.  The AZBR Committee is committed to keeping the contributions of African-American western heritage alive by offering a fun, family-oriented event for residents and vistors alike. The event highlights local and national African American rodeo competitors. There will be two shows 1:00pm and 7:00pm featuring bull riding, tie down roping, steer wrestling, steer undecorating, barrel racing, relay races and the crowd favorite mutton bustin' & calf scramble for the little ones.  

Round up your family and friends and join us for one of the "hottest shows on dirt." The Arizona Black Rodeo is fun and exciting for the entire family and rated triple "EEducational, Entertaining and for Everyone.

General Admission Seating Tickets:  $15 Advance  | $20 Day of Show 

$30 VIP Crow's Nest (Limited Seating)

- All Ages Event - Kids 3 and under free are admitted into the event for free with a paying adult


Location: Rawhide, 5700 W. North Loop Road, Chandler, AZ 85226 (Gila River Indian Community)

Times: 1pm & 7pm (Two Shows) Gates Open at 11:30am for the 1:00pm show | 5:30pm for 7:00pm show

Parking: Rawhide Parking Fee - $10 (cash only)

What is the refund policy? This event is a non-refundable, non-transferable rain or shine event.

The Arizona Black Rodeo promotes an appreciation for our cultural heritage by providing an educational experience about the role African Americans played in shaping the history of the West.  The annual Rodeo is a gathering place where family values will be honored and individuals of all ages will be entertained. The Arizona Informant is the Official Host to the Arizona Black Rodeo.

Since 1971, the Arizona Informant has provided an important voice for the Black community throughout the state. The family owned and operated newspaper continues to capture the attention of the Black community and others. Published every Wednesday, the Arizona Informant Newspaper is the only African-American owned weekly newspaper in the state.
