Description

Mezzo-soprano Ruston Ropac and lutenist and guitarist Peter Argondizza will present a concert of mostly 17th century repertoire from Italy and England on themes of love, life, loss, and the melancholy contemplation of it all.

Program:
Strozzi- "Lagrime mie"
Francesca Caccini- "S’io men vò" and "Se muove"
Monteverdi- "Si dolce è'l tormento"
de Murcia- “Una giga de Corelli” after Arcangelo Corelli’s Allegro op. 5, no. 3.

Dowland- "Flow my tears", "Go crystal tears" and "Come again"
Byrd- "Why do I use my paper, ink, and pen?" and "What pleasures have great princes"
Purcell- "She loves, and she confesses too" and "I attempt from love's sickness"

$20 general/$10 students and seniors. Tickets can be purchased online via Eventbrite, or cash or Venmo/PayPal at the door.
