Join your UF/IFAS Extension Sea Grant Agent
to explore why stone crabs are one
of Florida’s most valuable fisheries.
DURING THIS PROGRAM YOU WILL:
Learn about the biology of stone crabs & how the fishery is managed
Sample locally caught stone crab claws
Visit Kirk Fish Company * in nearby Goodland to see what it takes to work in the stone crab industry
Discover the rich heritage associated with stone crabbing and other fisheries in southwest Florida
*Participants will be responsible for providing their own transportation from the Marco Library
to Kirk Fish Company
Cost: $17
