12:00 pm - 12:50 pm — Facility-wide Layered, Emergency Notification Mr. Tim Lee, Vice President of Sales, Micro Technology Services, Inc. LYNX Duress and Emergency Notification Systems
Tim was instrumental in persuading the company to move their security product focus from video to duress and mass notification. This was an area seen as needing technology innovation, and something Micro Technology Services specialized in. Through industry trade shows and customer feedback, Tim helped company engineers develop and expand the Lynx system to what it is today.
As VP of Sales and Marketing, Tim’s role is to listen to client’s challenges and issues that security personnel need to address, and formulate solutions based on the Lynx product that best fits the needs of their facilities. Tim is also responsible for helping to develop new Lynx technology that address industry concerns and issues.

1:10 pm - 2:00 pm — Hostile Event Awareness and Prevention Ty Smith and Michael Bottenberg of Vigilance Risk Solutions
After the successful completion of six deployments to the Middle East as a SOF operator, Ty completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Management from Ashford University, and a Master’s Degree in Business from the University of Southern California, Marshall School of Business. Ty retired from Naval service May 20th, 2016, after 20-years of faithful and honorable service to God and country. Immediately after his retirement, he launched Vigilance Risk Solutions, a security consulting and risk mitigation company with a focus on the active shooter threat to organizations and their people.
Prior to joining the VRS team, Michael served eight years in the United States Marine Corps as a Logistics Officer. His military career included tours as a platoon commander, company commander and operations officer. He participated in numerous service level and joint exercises and deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. He holds a B.S. in Marketing from San Diego State University and a Master’s Degree in Business from the University of Southern California.
