About the Speakers:
Steven Greenberg is Regional Managing Partner of Heidrick & Struggles’ Financial Services Practice in Asia Pacific & the Middle East. Based in Tokyo, he also leads the Financial Services Practice in Japan and the Insurance Sector for the region. With more than 12 years of executive search & leadership advisory experience in Japan and the Asia Pacific region, Steven has recruited for all levels of senior management across insurance companies, investment banks, securities firms, asset managers, private equity firms, and other financial institutions. He has also advised clients on multiple senior management and succession planning engagements.
Prior to entering the executive search and leadership advisory profession, Steven was the Representative Director and President at The Gallup Organization Japan, Director of Business Development, Asia/Pacific, at Thomson Financial, and Manager, Global Financial Services Industry Group, at Deloitte Tohmatsu Consulting.
Steven is a member of the Keizai Doyukai (the Japan Association of Corporate Executives), and previously was a member of the Board of Directors of Nishimachi International School (2014 – 2020).
Steven holds a B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley and an M.A. in international affairs – international finance & business from Columbia University.
James B. Rosenwald III is the co-founder and managing partner of Dalton Investments LLC, an asset management company headquartered in Santa Monica, California, and adjunct professor at Stern School of Business at New York University. He has more than thirty years of investment experience in the Pacific Rim area.
Hideaki Tsukuda is founder and CEO of Board Advisors Japan, Inc., and a leading board and leadership advisor in Japan. He engages in board effectiveness reviews, advises nomination committees for CEO succession and engages in independent director searches.
Prior to founding Board Advisors Japan, Inc., Hideaki was Representative Director and Managing Partner of Egon Zehnder’s Japan office and a member of the Global Executive Committee. While at Egon Zehnder, he concurrently assumed the roles of Representative Director and Chief Operating Officer of Japan Investment Corporation in 2018. This was preceded by his career as an HR Consultant at McLagan Partners. He began his career at Sanwa Bank (currently Mitsubishi UFJ Bank).
Hideaki is an Independent Director at Katitas Co., Ltd. He also serves as a committee member of the Council of Experts Concerning the Follow-up of Japan’s Stewardship Code and Japan’s Corporate Governance Code (jointly organized by Financial Services Agency (FSA) and Tokyo Stock Exchange), the Council of Experts on the Stewardship Code (set by FSA), Market Working Group at FSA, and has recently served the Business Restructuring Study Group at Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
Hideaki earned a Bachelor of Laws at the University of Tokyo and an MS from MIT Sloan School of Management.
