Event description

Description

Join CUCR, AEI Executive Council at Columbia and CPU as we host Dr. Charles Murray, bestselling author of "Losing Ground," "The Bell Curve," and "Coming Apart."

Dr. Murray will be speaking about the causes of Trumps’ meteoric rise to the presidency. He will expand upon the arguments he originally made in "Coming Apart” by discussing the cultural divides between America’s “new upper class” and “new lower class.” Are elites to blame for the rise of Donald Trump? Was economic uncertainty the factor that pushed him over the top? Was it actually concerns over immigration? Join us on March 23rd to hear what Dr. Murray thinks were the main factors behind Trump’s election this past November.

This event is Co-Sponsored by The Columbia College Republicans and Columbia Political Union on behalf of the AEI Executive Council at Columbia University.
