Without a doubt, the best way to get into microcontrollers is with the simple and powerful Arduino. It's accesible and easy to set up, which is great for total beginners. It's powerful, flexible and well accepted by makers and engineers. In this three-hour class we will:
- Learn how to program using the Arduino environment
- Wire up a circuit and load up code to read sensors and make an LED blink
- Cover some basic useful circuits and code snippets
When you leave, you'll have a micro-controller, a mini-USB cable, and a handful of parts to play with.
Please bring a laptop with the Arduino environment. It's available at http://arduino.cc/en/Main/Software for all OSs.
The class will be taught by founding NYC Resistor member Raphael Abrams
