Description
REDHALL WALLED GARDEN Therapeutic Gardening, Design & Well-being
A guided tour of the garden and estate followed by co-production workshop activities focused on the design of a new (teaching) food preparation and dining cabin, raised deck and associated landscaping.
This is an official Architecture Fringe 2017 Event and Redhall has secured funding to realise the final design, which will be constructed by volunteer service users. What we require is expert design input from professionals and students to help maximise functionality and well-being.
Redhall Walled Garden is a beautiful 18th century walled garden that offers a safe environment for people to learn to deal with the challenges of recovering from a variety of enduring mental health problems.
Run by the Scottish Association for Mental Health, this unique, organic, community garden and surrounding estate provides individuals with a direct connection to nature and the seasons, and to a social support structure that is conducive to mental, emotional and physical well-being.
This is an opportunity to discover the delights and ethos of this unique, organic community garden and to contribute to the ongoing process of transformation.
