Event description

Description

Life stories. We use language continually to symbolize our inner and outer experience and we become used to using particular language patterns that reinforce the dominant characteristics of the experience. Constructing an externalized narrative allows the possibility of transformation and change.

How do you describe your life? What are the metaphors you routinely use to relate challenges and experiences? Can changing the language you use affect how you interpret your narrative?

Can the dominant story of your life be altered to reflect a more positive outcome?

In this workshop you can expect to:

  • Use poetic language to enrich your experience of the world around you

  • Explore sensory language in a mindful and connected way

  • Develop alternative metaphors to re-author your story

  • Access personal symbols and gain insight into their meanings

  • Work with the unconscious in a process of externalization and discovery

As well as the enthusiasm and knowledge of two experienced workshop leaders, all art materials are included in the price, although you might like to bring a notebook to document the process.
