Event description

Description

Josh Bowman will consider how everything from movies and music to poetry and marketing provides a window into understanding and critiquing modern American environmental politics and policy. We'll also consider how the insights of Christian sacramentality, eschatology and liturgy can help point us toward a more Biblical and less ideological environmental imagination.

BIOGRAPHY

Josh Bowman is a post-doctoral fellow with the LSU Department of Political Science and the Eric Voegelin Institute. He completed his PhD at the Catholic University of America in May 2016 with a dissertation entitled, “Arcadian Exile: The Imaginative Tension in Henry David Thoreau’s Political Thought.”

Josh is a previous recipient of the Richard M. Weaver and Henry Salvatori Fellowships, the managing editor of ANAMNESIS Journal and the acting executive director of the Ciceronian Society.

Josh’s primary research explores the intersection of religion and imagination with environmental politics and thought.
