Roll up your sleeves, grab a shovel, and help us grow a greener, more equitable and climate resilient Los Angeles, City Plants, LA Sanitation & Environment, LADWP, and the Department of Recreation & Parks invite you to a community celebration and volunteer tree planting event in South Los Angeles.
Join us for a day of climate and community action as we plant trees in LA in celebration of national Arbor Day. Come for the tree planting — Stay for the live music, food, face painting, art, and resource fair! Please wear close-toed shoes, sunscreen, and bring a reusable water bottle and gloves, if possible. Breakfast and lunch will be served for volunteers.
8:30 am — Volunteer Registration Begins, Breakfast, Live Music & Resource Fair
9:30 am — Event Kick-off & Speaking Ceremony
10:00 am — Tree Planting, Live Music & Resource Fair
12:00 pm — Lunch, Live Music, & Resource Fair
1:30 pm — Event Ends
City Plants will host a FREE fruit and shade tree adoption at this event. Trees will be available for City of LA residents to plant on private property. Proof of residence within the City of LA is required to take a tree home for planting. For City Plants adoption rules, please visit our website. Trees are 3 - 6 feet tall, come in a 5-gallon container, and must be planted in the ground.
