ArACES Mid-Winter Conference 2017

We will be holding our mid-Winter conference on Friday, February 24, 2017 at the Brewer-Hegeman Conference Center on the campus of UCA in Conway, AR. Our keynote speaker will be Dr. Michael Brooks. He is a Counselor Educator and Associate Professor of Counseling at North Carolina A&T State University. He will guide us in an interactive training on the topic of 'Multiculturally Competent Supervision'. We will also have speakers presenting on the topics of distance counseling/supervision, supervision ethics, and more. We will be offering six clock hours of NBCC continuing education for the conference. The fee of $65 will include the six hours of training, lunch, afternoon snack, and priceless time networking with your fellow supervisors from all over the state of Arkansas. Seating will be limited to 100 people!
Conference will begin at 8:30 a.m. with a time of refreshments and networking. We will conclude the conference at 4:30 p.m.

Dr. Michael Brooks
Dr. Brooks is a Counselor Education Associate Professor at North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro, North Carolina. Dr. Brooks has presented in the areas of multiculturalism and multicultural competency, ethics relating to diversity, and mentoring at several regional, national, and international conferences. Dr. Brooks also has an extensive publication record in several counseling flagship journals, as well as publications in multicultural education and student affairs journals. Dr. Brooks edited a textbook on Black Male Success. Dr. Brooks has been the President of the Association for Multicultural Counseling and Development as well as the President of the Alabama Association for Counselor Education and Supervision.
