Event description

Description

Arab Cinema Week is New York's first festival dedicated to Arab Cinema with daily screenings of movies from across the Arab World, and panels with celebrity actors and directors.

Its debut in 2016 featured award-winning films such as As I Open My Eyes (Tunisia), The Idol (Palestine), Nawara (Egypt), Yalla, Underground! (Germany), and Tickling Giants (US); as well as special appearances of Egyptian satirist Bassem Youssef, Tunisian actor Dhafer L'abidine and Egyptian rising star Jamila Awad.

This year, Arab Cinema Week takes place November 17-23 at Cinema Village in the bustling area of Union Square. As Egypt is the 2017 Country in Focus, we are happy to announce a special appearance for Ahmed Malek and Shereen Reda.
