Description

Join us and learn how to grow a garden without soil, where food is free of chemicals, no weeds grow; and you work at waist high level with minimum energy exertion. Your vegetables can grow faster and at higher densities compared to traditional soil gardening.

The Life Empowering Technology and Science Department at the University of the Nations in Kailua Kona, Hawaii is presenting this “Introduction to Aquaponics Systems Seminar” beginning on Monday, December 11th, 2017, and running through Wednesday, December 20th, 2017. This course meets daily at the University of the Nations Kona Campus from 9 a.m. till noon. (8 weekday sessions)

Seminar content includes the following:

~ Aquaponics design and construction

~ Water quality and nutrient stream

~ Selecting suitable fish and plant species for aquaponics

~ Fish health management,

~ Plant health management

This course shall be facilitated by the LETS Aquaponics staff, who actively operate a variety of aquaponics systems, understand the dynamics of symbiotic relationships, and are equiping others to be succesful aquaponics practitioners on the Big Island, and throughout the world.
