The session will be opened by the British High Commissioner to Malaysia, H.E. Charles Hay, Director for UN-Habitat Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific Atsushi Koresawa and with speakers including UK FCO programme manager, urban experts from UN-Habitat and city leaders from the South-East Asia Region followed by a dialogue, the session aims to explore:

• Data-driven and smart technology solutions for complex urban challenges in the Asia-Pacific region through the lenses of the Sustainable Development Goals and the New Urban Agenda at local level,

• How the Programme can demonstrate innovative multi-sectoral and stakeholder processes, how to build a wider strategic network to support implementation, replication and bankability of urban projects,

• Synergies with other programmes in the region to strengthen peer-to-peer learning and the transformative impact of urban projects in the field of planning, mobility and resilience.
