Description

Play, create, and act with puppets! This camp is geared toward aspiring actors who have an interest in expanding their repertoire to working with puppets. Theater artist/educator Courtney Wood will mentor young actors on how to bring puppets to life on stage. Participants will write their own plays, build their own puppet(s), and perform their puppet show for friends and family in a special Friday evening performance following the end of camp. It will be a fun week full of puppet silliness and creativity!

FINAL PERFORMANCE FOR FRIENDS & FAMILY: 5:30pm Friday April 19.

FULL COST: $225 per full week or $50 per day.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: April 8

EARLY-BIRD SPECIAL: $200 per full week and $40 per day if you sign up by March 23. Discount will be available when you click the green TICKETS button.

SLIDING SCALE is also available. All of our youth programs operate on a flexible fee policy called a Sliding Scale so any child can participate. Here's how to use it:

  • Consult the guidelines here to determine what to pay.
  • Use the appropriate PROMO CODE from the bottom of the chart based on your household size/income.
  • Select TICKETS on our Eventbrite page.
  • You'll see an ENTER PROMOTIONAL CODE in the upper right hand corner after you click TICKETS.
  • Enter the appropriate PROMO CODE, for example, 75PERCENT.
  • Select the session(s) you want your youngster to attend
  • Your discount will be reflected immediately.

About the instructor Courtney Wood: Actor and theater educator Courtney Wood has extensive teaching experience, having worked with the Missoula Childrens Theater, Community Theater of Greensboro, Berkshire Theater Group, Winfield Children's House Montessori, and for Falmouth Elementary and Middle School. General overview of the week:

Monday and Tuesday: campers will work on writing their plays and sketching out their puppet ideas.

Once all the plays have been approved, Tuesday afternoon campers will begin the puppet construction process.

Wednesday and Thursday: Campers will continue or start to build puppets and rehearse their plays.

Friday: Campers will put the finishing touches together and then preform their plays for friends and family.
