PAA's next Supported Club Ride will be on Sunday April 14th! Join us for a challenging route along some of the most scenic stretches of asphalt in the San Gabriel Mountains - the climb to Crystal Lake and beyond!
When you RSVP, please:
- Select the route option you plan on doing (1, 2 OR 3)
- Order individual tickets for each person in your group, if more than one.
Guests/non-members are welcome to attend, but must complete a one-page simple release form the day of the ride (available at starts).
To help cover the cost of the SAG vehicle/driver, powerbar product, food and drink, there will be a a suggested donation of $5-10 for this ride. Volunteers/juniors ride free. A donation box will be located in the SAG vehicle. Thank you for helping make these events possible!
April's ride will have two starting points. Rose Bowl Lot K (6:20am meet; 6:30am depart) and Encanto Park in Duarte (7:20meet, 7:30am depart). The route is a relatively simple out and back, unless you plan on doing the full 90 mile loop from Lot K, up Hwy 39, and back on Hwy 2.
Depending on the mileage you would like to ride, there are two start/stop locations for you to choose from, and three ride options (40, 69 and 90 miles). Please note that the SAG vehicle will meet riders en route, so riders may not be able to stow items at starting points.
Start 1 Rose Bowl Lot K, Pasadena (meet 6:20am, roll 6:30am)
Start 2 Encanto Park, Duarte (meet 7:20am, roll 7:30am)
Crystal Lake Cafe
Is a great spot to have a nice lunch/meal at the top of the climb. We highly encourage riders to patronize the shop, which is wholely dependent upon visitors to stay in business, and provides a great service for the times when we don't have a support vehicle. Please bring a few dollars extra in cash (never a bad idea!) for lunch and/or goodies at the cafe, or Newcombs if you plan on doing the full loop.
