Join us for our monthly luncheon. Our speakers this month are Senator Tim Neville and Visiting Professor of Conservative Thought & Policy at the University of Colorado, Boulder, Francis J. Beckwith!
Senator Neville will be updating us on whats happening at the capitol.
Then, the Visiting Professor of Conservative Thought & Policy, Francis J. Beckwith will proceed with his presentation:
"Why Conservatives (and Everyone Else) Should Be Rock-Ribbed Liberals."
As we have seen over the past decade or so, traditional liberal understandings of freedom of speech and association have fallen on hard times. With the prevalence and persuasiveness of speech codes on public university campuses, and the use of private corporations and social media to silence dissent against those who have the temerity to defend unpopular ideas, it seems fair to say that traditional understandings of freedom of speech, association, and religion have lost their resonance with many of our fellow citizens. That’s why we have to remind compatriots of the case for “rock-ribbed liberalism,” and why most of our predecessors believed in it.
You do not have to be a member or a republican to attend. We encourage you to bring someone!
A portion of the lunch fee goes toward the CRBC Small Donor Committee to support republican candidates in the next election.
