Speaker Bios
Emily Hasty Reynolds | Executive Director, Governmental Affairs - Hampton Roads Chamber
Before joining the Chamber, Emily worked as a legislative aide to Senator Steve Newman, President Pro Tempore, of the 23rd district. She started as an intern in his office and was offered the job shortly after. From this role, she brings experience in her ability to navigate the political and policy-driven development process within the General Assembly. Through her work with the senator, Emily was well-versed on pressing issues involving education, health, transportation, commerce & labor, general laws, and budget related topics. Emily graduated from Liberty University in 2018 with a degree in Public Health: Pre-Clinical where she was a member and officer of the Eta Sigma Gamma and Alpha Lambda Delta Honors Societies.
Emily is a native of Chesapeake where she has been involved in her community and established lasting relationships with local, state, and federal members. She feels as though she prepped her whole life for a position such as this. “The Chamber takes pride in the advocacy it provides for businesses throughout the 757 region. I plan to continue that legacy to ensure policies drive a thriving environment for regional business prosperity.”
