Do you keep checklists of your everyday, critical tasks? Why not? Do you think you should be able to remember them? Atul Gawande, in The Checklist Manifesto: How To Get Things Right, challenges the idea that we can always remember the steps we need to take, especially something we do frequently. Likewise, some people remember all the steps, but believe some do not matter and choose to skip them.
His conclusion is that many aspects of modern life are too complex for us to be able to remember, especially when we are stressed or exhausted. In researching hospitals who added checklists to certain procedures, the improvement in results was dramatic.
Not just any checklist will do, however. There are key things needed to make them good and effective, and we'll discuss on Friday, April 4th at the Leadership Lunch and Learn. Join us and find out what makes a good checklist, and how it can improve your business and your life.
You don't need to read the book to attend and participate. All attendees receive a copy of the SynkNotes for later reference.
Thanks to our new sponsor, Swanky's Taco Shop, for providing the light lunch.
