Industry veteran Nekesa J. Smith will talk to Lunch attendees about how to utilize their skills to expand into education, product sales, community outreach and other areas in order to insure a long and successful career in the natural hair care industry. Nekesa is a practiced educator who teaches other stylists how she has been able to diversify the products and services she offers without compromising on her commitment to natural hair care. Attendees will enjoy a feature presentation and Q&A with Educator/CEO Nekesa J. Smith, a lunch buffet, a prize drawing, and post presentation networking.
Nekesa J. Smith’s work includes but is not limited to developing her own curriculum; opening Nekesa’s Natural Radiance Hair Loft; creating Nekesa Natural Radiance Beauty Company Products; and developing "Doing it Her Way" Education-Entrepreneurship-Empowerment, a non-profit organization. She is currently finalizing her first book entitled “Enhancing Your Life: One Strand at a Time.” Through her work Nekesa has not only been able to expand her own career. She has created opportunities for other women as well by providing job opportunities and teaching them the skills needed to begin their own businesses. Her work has earned her the opportunity teach her curriculum at Atlanta Technical College, recognition from Spelman College as a Pauline E. Drake Scholar Entrepreneur, and features in several magazines including a special issue of the nationally acclaimed Essence Magazine.
