Event description

Description

Join us in learning more about our Omaha community and visiting some of our neighbors!

This orientation will offer a bit of history, some Catholic Social Teaching principles and the opportunity to visit community partners to speak with local leaders. Lunch from a local South Omaha restaurant is included. Come alone or with others from your area.

One participant said, “I loved the Ignatian approach to the day. It intensified the reflection/discernment for me. It was very energizing and enlightening and made me want to ‘Go Set the World on Fire."

Group participants should wear comfortable walking shoes and modest clothing. Group will be introduced to the history and culture of the local community, meet a local community leader or visit a local community agency, experience reflection, get to know other Creighton colleagues, and create one action step as a result of the time together. We will begin in Schlegel Center for Service and Justice, Lower Becker Hall, and return to Deglman Circle following the experience.

This half day orientation is sponsored by the Catholic Social Teaching fund.
