Event description

Description

Please join Apraxia Kids for a special Apraxia Awareness event – a special night for area families to join local speech-language pathologists (SLPs) for a one-of-a-kind Apraxia Specialist Panel, with Q&A. This is a unique opportunity to network with other apraxia families and caregivers, as well as therapists, and see the Apraxia Kids headquarters at the Cardello Building, North Shore.

We are pleased to offer the parents of Pittsburgh the opportunity to ask questions to a panel of local SLPs! It’s not often that you get to “pick the brains” of 7 specialists in childhood apraxia of speech from the Pittsburgh area! Come prepared with your questions for Eileen Cirelli from the Allegheny Intermediate Unit, Jen Rakers and Carrie Van Soest from Children’s Hospital, Megan Overby and Katie Micco from Duquesne University, Kathy Helfrich-Miller from Rehabilitation Specialists, and Gretchen Myers from Center4Speech.

This event coincides with Apraxia Awareness Month, an important time for informing our local community of the struggles that children with apraxia face each day. We hope to bring our community in Pittsburgh together to raise awareness, support each other, and build a bridge between our parents and professionals!
