Applying Jain Principles in Medical Practice

Dr. Manoj Jain is an infectious disease physician, a writer, and an adjunct clinical assistant professor at Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University. Manoj writes regularly for the Washington Post and the Commercial Appeal (Memphis newspaper). His writings and interviews have appeared in the New York Times, Times of India, NPR, CNN and Annals of Internal Medicine. For fun, Manoj writes cookbooks and children’s books. Manoj received his engineering, doctorate, and public health degrees from Boston University. During his fellowship at New England Medical Center (Tufts University) he also served as a consultant to the World Bank on HIV Epidemiology. He is a former board chair for the M.K. Gandhi Institute for Nonviolence and worked closely with Arun Gandhi, the grandson of Mahatma Gandhi. Manoj has also conducted research in spirituality and medicine to study the "therapeutic effect of prayer” in collaboration with Harvard Medical School.

Parking Information

Parking will be available in the Blue Garage located at the main FIU entrance at S.W. 107th Avenue and S.W. 16th Street. Follow the signs to the designated parking area and please print and show your ticket to the parking attendant in order to park in the designated area.

The event is free and open to the public.
Please join us after the lecture for a traditional Indian vegetarian dinner.
