This workshop is designed to inform job seekers on how to write a cover letter.
Topics include:
- Intro to Google
- Intro to Writing a Cover Letter for Your First Job
- Researching the Potential Employer
- Beginning to Write Your Letter
- Complete Your Letter and Sign Off
- Conclusion
The length of the classrom time is 2 hours. Google projects to complete all materials it will take approximately 2 hours to complete. Our goal will be to familiarize one with getting started during that 2 hour time frame. In order to complete the contents of the course it may require additional time spent either at home or enrolling in a second session for supported practice. Supported practice days will be held on Fridays from 9:30-11:30 AM. The class will be self-paced but there will be assistants to answer any questions to assist you in successfully completing the course.
The Wichita Workforce Center is located at 2021 N. Amidon, Suite 1100 in the New Leaf Plaza. Parking is free in the lot in front of the building.
Prior to the session you must go to www.KANSASWORKS.com and register with a free job seeker account. Or please visit your local workforce center for assistance. If you do not register on KANSASWORKS.com 1 day in advance you will not be allowed to complete the workshop.
Please report to the Front Desk and check in no later than 5 minutes before the start time listed. No one will be admitted late to the workshop.
