Save the date for ABA NYC 2019, which will take place on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at The Sheen Center in New York City. The annual conference brings together behavior analysts, educators, social workers, other professionals, and parents for a day-long conference on advanced material related to applied behavior analysis. Continuing education credits are offered for behavior analysts, social workers, teachers, teacher assistants, and school building leaders. The conference will take place from 9am to 4pm. Alicia Alvero, Ph.D. Associate Professor, Queens College, The City University of New York
Alicia M. Alvero is a Professor at Queens College, The City University of New York. She received her B.A. in Psychology from Florida International University her M.A. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology and her Ph.D. in Applied Behavior Analysis from Western Michigan University (WMU). Dr. Alvero was awarded the prestigious Ford Foundation Fellowship while at WMU for her research. She served as Deputy Chair for the Department of Psychology for six years and was a Faculty Fellow in the Provost’s Office. She has published in JABA, JOBM, JEAB, Behavior Analysis in Practice, Journal of Autism and Developmental Disordersand Assessment & Evaluation in Higher Education, to name a few. She is the author of several book chapters, and was an editorial board member for the Journal of Safety Research and an Associate Editor for the Journal of Organizational Behavior Management. Dr. Alvero has been an invited speaker across the country and also serves as an organizational consultant in the areas of training, leadership, and performance management
WORKSHOP: Performance Issues: Why Won't They Do It?
Once introduced to Applied Behavior Analysis in 2000 while working as a speech therapist, Anika quickly discovered her passion. Throughout her 18-year career, she has directly provided behavior and performance support to individuals, groups, and organizations across educational, private and community-based agencies. A presenter at local and national conferences, Anika has used her extensive field experience as a platform for providing meaningful training, supervision, and mentoring to behavior analysts across the country. As a clinical training coordinator, student mentoring liaison and manager of two large school district contracts at Positive Behavior Support Corp., she is currently focusing on deepening her knowledge and skills in the application of OBM.

Clare Penny, M.A., BCBA
Clare Penny, MA, BCBA serves as a board certified beahvior analyst out of Santa Barbara, CA. Professionally, she has been working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder for the past nine years in Austrailia, New York, and California. She recieved her BA in Psychology from California Lutheran University, and has her Master’s Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Ball State University. Her current research interests focus on structured work systems, staff training, and behavior skills training.

Hester Bekisz, M.S.Ed., BCBA, LBA Clinical Coordinator, Eden II Programs/The Genesis Outreach Autism Center
Hester Bekisz is a certified special education teacher and board certified behavior analyst. She holds a master’s degree in childhood special education from the College of New Rochelle and has been working in the field of autism for 19 years. She completed coursework for her BCBA through the Florida Institute of Technology. She began working as a behavior specialist at The Genesis School and currently works as the Clinical Coordinator in Eden II Programs/The Genesis Outreach Autism Center. Ms. Bekisz has presented at local, regional and national conferences on topics related to autism and applied behavior analysis. She has conducted and presented research in areas, such as, treatments options for individuals with ASD who engage in ritualistic behavior and increasing conversation skills, the use of a complex behavioral treatment package, and the use of schedules to promote on-task behavior. Her research was presented at the Association for Behavior Analysis International Conference.
Participants will be eligible for 4.0 CEUs (Live In-Person).
