Description
Appium 1.0 was released in May and we're taking the show on the road! Appium is an open source, cross-platform test automation tool for native, hybrid, and mobile web apps.
The Appium Roadshow will be held on Wednesday, August 20th at Projective Space - LES in Manhattan's Lower East Side. It is a day-long event that will feature presentations from Gilt Groupe, Sharecare, Softcrylic, and Sauce Labs as they present real-world examples, lessons learned, and best practices in mobile app test automation and using Appium. In the afternoon, there will be a hands-on Appium workshop led by Matthew Edwards, a core contributor to the Appium project.
Tickets for the morning session are free and include breakfast and lunch. The afternoon workshop will be limited to 40 participants and tickets are $100 each.
Workshop Overview
Appium is an open source tool for automating native, mobile web, and hybrid applications on iOS and Android platforms. Appium's "cross-platform" design allows you to write tests against multiple platforms (iOS, Android), using the same API. This enables code reuse between iOS and Android testsuites.
In this Appium Workshop you will learn how to set up the environment needed for native iOS and Android automation with Ruby. You will then download and configure the Appium.app so that you can write tests. Finally, you will be shown how to kick up an Appium server and then run a test written in the Ruby language!
