Event description

Description

Join us for Southern Appalachian Wilderness Stewards' (SAWS) inaugural Appalachian Roots fundraising event. Hosted by Mess Hall, a unique culinary incubator located in Northeast DC, this special evening will celebrate the tastes, stories, and heritage of the southern Appalachian Region. The night will feature live music by Bearcat Wildcat and a five-course farm-to-table meal prepared by Chef Mike Costello and Amy Dawson of Lost Creek Farms. Bill Hodge, Executive Director of SAWS, will share stories about the organization's efforts to provide public access to and protection for this unique region of the country.

A charitable deduction of $115 can be taken for this event. However, additional contributions can be made to help SAWS expand its program in 2018.

NOTE: Vegetarian or gluten free dinners must be requested at the time of purchase. We will do everything we can to ensure your meal is vegetarian or GF.

This event will cap at 40 people. If you are unable to reserve a space for 10/5, Lost Creek Farm will be hosting two additional pop ups at Mess Hall on 10/6 and 10/7. SAWS will have a table for donations set up during both nights. Please check out Mess Hall's Facebook site for more information.
