APLD Bay Area DESIGNER FORUM SERIES:

Webite Renovation:

A Panel Discussion about Boosting Your Online Presence for Landscape Designers

In today’s online-driven marketplace, a solid web presence should be an essential part of your business model. A web designer, garden writer and garden photographer will provide an overview of some of the most popular content management systems and share strategies on when and how to hire professional help, writing effective content and maximizing photography.

ABOUT OUR PANEL:

Jude Parkinson-Morgan is a Bay area garden photographer and APLD member. She photographs gardens created by Bay area designers for their websites, portfolios, social media and competition entry. Her photos have also been published in variety of media including Sunset, The American Gardener, Pacific Horticulture and other publications. Her aim is to capture the essence of a designer’s vision in every photo. She is delighted that her photos of gardens designed by six APLD members will feature in Susan Morrison’s new book, The Less is More Garden: Big Ideas for Designing Your Small Yard.

Susan Morrison is a landscape designer, garden writer and speaker based in Northern California. Her designs have been featured in various publications, including the San Francisco Chronicle, Cottages and Bungalows and Fine Gardening magazine, where she also contributes articles on design and plant selection. Her newest book, The Less is More Garden: Big Ideas for Designing Your Small Yard, will be available from Timber Press in January, 2018.

Jennifer Kate Brand holds a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science and previously worked as a programmer and web developer at Lawerence Livermore National Laboratory. After putting in 10 years behind the desk, she left her career as an engineer to pursue a lifelong interest in landscape design. She is a trained horticulturist, passionate gardener, and sustainable architecture enthusiast. She now owns and runs her own landscape design business in the East Bay: Jennifer Kate Landscapes.
