About this Event
Pharmacists are very instrumental in helping to meet immunization goals and prevent disease. Capitol City Pharmacy MRC is partnering with Howard University College of Pharmacy to offer Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery certificate training program (14th Edition). This program is an innovative, intensive, and practice-based continuing pharmacy education, based on national educational standards for immunization training from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Didactic lectures will be provided virtually according to the following schedule
Sunday October 11, 2020 (4:00pm – 7:00pm)
• Welcome, Introductions and Acknowledgements
• Clinical Review
Wednesday October 14, 2020 (6:00pm – 9:00pm)
• Managing a Pharmacy-Based Immunization Program
• Strategies for Increasing Immunization Rates
• Applying ACIP Immunization Schedules
• Communicating with Patients
Friday October 16, 2020 (6:00pm – 8:00pm)
• Vaccine Administration Technique
INJECTION DEMONSTRATION
October 17 OR October 20 (By Appointment)
• Skills Assessment
Injection demonstration must be done in person at Bellevue Pharmacy during scheduled time
No refunds for cancellations on or after October 10, 2020. Cancellations prior to October 10th will receive a refund minus a $50 processing fee. Additionally, participants who redeem an enrollment code will be charged a fee of $125 regardless whether they complete any portion of the self-study.
