Aperture 3 Intensive Training and Certification Class
Master Aperture 3
Aperture 3 is here, and the new release is the most powerful photographic tool available today. But all the tools in the world won't help you if you don't leverage the tools to help your photographic workflow.
The Aperture Users Network is the world's leading resource for and authority on Aperture 3 and our new Aperture 3 Intensive Training is the class need to take if you're looking to master Aperture.
This four-day class offers a complete in-depth hands-on education in Aperture. An optional fifth day practical exam provides our new AUN Certified Master designation, which provides you with a variety of benefits including access to our private Certified Master mailing list, even better discounts on our training materials and resources than our Mac Create Premium membership and more.
This class is perfect for both the Aperture 2 user looking to migrate to 3.0 and the brand new user turning to Aperture for the first time. Both will come away with the skills needed to master the new version of Aperture, and take control of your digital workflow.
It's Boot Camp for your Photography
the Aperture Intensive is a hands-on class, with provided laptops, course materials and sample images.
We start at the beginning, learning Aperture’s interface, and then move on to importing, applying metadata, rating, adjusting outputting and archiving images.
We'll highlight each of the 200 new features in Aperture including Adjustment Brushes and Presets, Faces, Places, Slideshows, Library Syncing and Merging, Printing, and the myriad improvements to the interface.
Each step will be a thorough and complete examination of Aperture, looking at the best ways to customize the workflow to fit the needs of the individual photographer.
At the end of the class you’ll be able to run Aperture like a pro, in fact this is the same course we use as the foundation for our own instructors.
But this program isn’t just mastering Aperture, it’s about taking control of your photographic life. We’ll teach you the best organizational practices, the systems of handling your images (both referenced and managed), library organization structure, how to use presets and customization to shave off countless hours and more.
Who is this for?
The Aperture Intensive classes are designed for the serious and/or professional photographer, studio managers and other creatives that require the highest level of training available.
While focused and intense, this class is also designed to be enjoyable—all of our instructors are personable photographers with a long history in digital photography. As a result, it’s a great place to get your general and advanced digital photography questions answered as well.
What Is The Certification Exam?
Increasingly employers and clients are demanding a guaranteed level of skills from their employees and contractors alike. Our certification assures them that you've got what it takes to professionally manage a photographic collection with master-level skills. All of our Certified users will be posted to a site accessible by your clients and we'll provide verification of this by email or phone at your request.
Unlike many certification classes that are merely multiple-choice book tests, we put our students through a practical exam. You'll start with a card full of images and a series of must-perform tasks. Tackle them using the tools at your disposal and check them off. Our instructors will evaluate the results and provide you feedback as well.
Where are the classes held?
The Aperture Intensive classes are held in cities around the country (and internationally). We offer both scheduled stops as well as localized training on demand. We’ll provide classes anywhere in the country with as few as four students pre-registered.
You can also contact us in order to request training in your area.
How much does it cost?
Aperture Intensives cost $1200 for the four-day class and $1500 for the four-day class plus certification. Mac Create Premium members take the class for just $1100 for four days or $1400 for the certification.
Mac Create Premium membership is $39.99 for the year, so that's a no-brainer, and Mac Create Premium membership gives you access to a host of other benefits as well.
