APAMSA is a national organization to serve as a forum for medical students to discuss and engage in issues important to Asian and Pacific Islander American (APIA) health. This organization is committed to addressing the unique health challenges of the APIA communities and dedicated to improving cultural competency, promoting diversity in health care, and advocate to create change.
Each year, the national conference brings together students and leaders from around the country to learn about the unique challenges that APIAs face, which include, but are not limited to issues of health care access, language barriers, and mental health challenges.
We invite you to join us in Las Vegas on September 27th, 2014 to learn about the current issues APIA face in America. We will have speakers from across the nation present their current research and various workshops sessions to learn skills such as suturing, blood typing, and phlemotomy. Refreshments and lunch will be included during the conference. We will be hosting an appreciation banquet for our speakers after the conference.
