Since its inception, the DRC has been a training ground for students to learn crucial conflict management skills that not only help the community but also develop their leadership potential. In 2016, the DRC trained over 50 high school, college, graduate, law school students to be mediators. By the end of this year, they will have volunteered over 2,000 hours to provide critically needed conflict management services in Mandarin, Spanish, English, Japanese, Tagalog, Hindi, Korean, and Cantonese.
As a community mediation center, the DRC provides in-language conflict management assistance and opportunities for LA's underserved to handle conflicts constructively as well as reach agreement out of court. Our mediation services are provided for the community by the community.
Your generous support will help sustain our vision of a community nurtured through mediation as the model for change and a better Los Angeles.
