Attorneys and law students are needed to volunteer at APABA’s legal clinic at Monterey Park Bruggemeyer Library.
- Volunteers will be matched with a clinic participant and help with intake and provide information in response to myriad legal issues in the areas of family law, estate planning, criminal law, civil matters, government benefits, and immigration.
- A light dinner will also be provided to volunteers.
- Parking is available at the library's parking lot.
A brief orientation will be provided to new volunteers prior to the clinic. Please try to get to the clinic by 5:45pm if you are a new volunteer.
Please read the following handouts and instructions before volunteering at the clinic:
- Volunteer Agreement - Please print, sign, and provide this agreement when you check in at your first clinic.
The handouts provide crucial information regarding our policies and guidelines for the clinic intake and consultation (e.g., no referrals to private attorneys). Reading the handouts and filling out the form ahead of time will expedite the sign-in and orientation process and enable you to start volunteering right away.
Want to volunteer but can't make it to the clinic?
If you cannot make it to the clinic but can be available to consult via telephone, please email us your name, telephone, area of law expertise, and languages spoken. We maintain an attorney call list that we periodically utilize when the need arises.
Please e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call us at (213) 393-5354.
