Beginning January 2017 breakfast will be the first WEDNESDAY of the month
As we approach the end of 2016, we are talking a moment to assess the progress this event has made in six short months. We are creating a forum to exchange ideas on sustainable and inclusive environments that recognize advantages of redevelopment and reuse. This is never more evident to us then the space we use for our monthly meetings, Desoto Central Market.
The DeSoto Building was rehabilitated for a new use as a food-oriented public market, including five individual restaurant kitchens, beverage bar, common seating areas, and a new mezzanine. The outdoor space on the corner, located diagonally from a major light rail stop, was activated with shade canopies, game areas, bike racks, and a combination fire pit and water feature dubbed the "FireDome."
This vision was created by Bob Graham AIA NCARB LEED-AP, principal at Motley Design Group for this fabulous space. His 30 years of experience has focused on historic preservation, urban infill and rehabilitation projects. We look forward to Bob’s insight into preservation and redevelopment in the Phoenix Metro area.
