Described as large data sets that are analyzed to understand trends and impacts on human behavior and interactions, Big Data is prominent in all sectors of society. But what are the impacts of Big Data on how we plan our communities? This program will explore this question, particularly assessing how Big Data guides policies, plans, and decisions.
Confirmed speakers
John Tolva, President, PositivEnergy Practice (Speaker and Moderator), will frame the issues, applications, and potentials of big data.
Tom Schenk, Chief Data Officer, City of Chicago (Speaker), will discuss large scale municipal policy and applications.
Doug Pancoast, “The Array of Things” Project Lead (Speaker), will talk about the interface of data design, instrumentation, and operation.
Kyla Williams, Smart Chicago Director of Operations, The Chicago Community Trust (Speaker), will focus on neighborhood and citizen scale applications.
