Join us in Grand Rapids, MI on Aug 8 & 9 for a two-day Sales and Leadership Training hosted by FAC representatives Shawn Prunick and Lisa Bazely. We are bringing out the BIG GUNS and will be learning from some of the best in the business! You and your team won’t want to miss this opportunity and seats are limited.

We will be covering the Business of Fitness through Hiring Rockstar Employees and how to keep them, Leadership Workshop, Membership Sales and How to Sell against competition, and finally HOW TO SELL Personal Training.

Day 1-

Justin Grinnell 9am – 10:30am

Owner - State of Fitness

Justin Grinnell is the founder of State of Fitness in East Lansing, Michigan - an 11,000 square foot personal training facility. He is also the founder of Jackson State of Fitness, a corporate wellness personal training facility servicing over 3,000 employees in Lansing, Michigan and Nashville, Tennessee.

Justin has been a personal trainer for over 17-years and has accumulated over 30,000 hours of coaching during that time. Even as a busy business owner, he still manages to train 15-20 hours a week.

At State of Fitness, Justin has teamed up with Michigan State University and Central Michigan University to create one of the most robust internship programs in the country. In the last 9-years, there has been over 400 people that have gone through his internship program, State of Fitness University.

Justin's contributions to the fitness industry have provided him the opportunities to be a featured writer for Muscle & Fitness Magazine, be a speaker for the National Fitness Business Alliance with Thomas Plummer and is a regular speaker for Perform Better. He is the author of the E-book series including The Grinnell Lifestyle: My Nutritional Doctrine, How to Build a Rockstar Personal Training Internship Program and The GTS Training Model at State of Fitness.

The business trilogy – how to understand what you need to develop to sell more and run a better business

Understanding what is getting in your way of selling more or running a more profitable, more efficient business, is the key to ensuring you spend time on what is going to deliver results. During this session, we will help you self-evaluate where you need to focus to be more profitable. With a combination of self-reflection, education and an strategy to improve in the areas holding you back, you will come out of this session with specific knowledge of not just what to do, but how to do it.

Brian spent most of his career running large multi-billion dollar businesses in Europe and North America. While opening 9 Anytime Fitness clubs and breaking pre-sale records, Brian launched a wipes / cleaning company, a telecommunications firm, a consulting business and now, is the CEO and co-founder of Canada’s best and fastest growing brands.

Brian’s strategies are used by hundreds of companies. He has consulted with firms in the past, spent several years teaching business at the University of Toronto and is a mentor to mid-size business presidents who learn about strategy and marketing from Brian.


Casey Conrad 12:30pm-5pm

Boost Your Business with Key Sales Skills

With competition at an all-time high, the one way you can boost your business is improving your team’s sales skills. Having a strong referral process with new members that starts on the very first interaction, becoming better at qualifying to uncover emotional triggers, and becoming proficient at dealing with the "Commitment" objection are three critical skills for every Anytime Fitness facility. In this portion of the program, industry veteran sales trainer, Casey Conrad, will provide you with the exact strategies and scripts for each of these three skills.

Day 2-

Michael Gelfgot 9am-4pm

The Man. The Myth. The Legend… Mike’s drive to be a different kind of a health club started 16 years ago. Between Mike and his two business partners, they operated 21 Anytime Fitness locations in the United States. Along with his teams accomplishments in 2008 Club Operators of the Year, 2013 Success Story of the Year, Personal Trainer of the Year 2013 and 2016, 2015 Community Outreach Award of the Year, Michael Gelfgot was the very first Personal Trainer of the Year back in 2012. Gelfgot and his two business partners credit all of their success back to their team knowing that without them none of this would be possible.
