Anything Goes! Enhancing Plain Weave
Wednesday, February 1
10am to 2:30pm with a lunch break
Instructor: Nancy Core
$55 WGGC members / $80 non-members
Class Limit: 8
Learn to enhance plain weave fabrics using techniques borrowed from rug and tapestry weaving. Students will leave this one-day class with a sampler of techniques that can be used to embellish and add interest to plain weave fabrics.
Bring to class a warped rigid heddle or 4 shaft loom, basic weaving tools (including scissors and stick shuttles), interesting yarn to share, and your lunch. (A refrigerator and microwave are available for use.)
Warp your loom 8-10" wide and 2-3 yards long (plan 2 yards on a rigid heddle, 3 on a floor loom) using plain worsted weight or similar yarn sett at 8 epi. Choose similar weft for plain weave background.
