Anticodes is a stunning tour de force by the Czech dance company Laterna Magika

State-of-the-art multimedia play the main role in this visual dance production based on Václav Havel's collection of experimental poetry of the same name. Havel's typewriter is replaced by a laptop, ink by light and paper by darkness, transforming the stage into an arena of movement and sound. Havel's collection of poems consists of calligrams, where the design and layout of the text create a visual image related to the meaning of the words themselves. In this renowned work, Havel championed freedom of speech  thru unconventional means of communication.

Celebrating the launch of the Václav Havel Initiative for Human Rights and Diplomacy

A project of the School of the International and Public Affairs at Florida International University, the Václav Havel Initiative for Human Rights and Diplomacy educates future generations in the study of human rights and its impact on democratic transitions, through dedicated research, lectures, conferences, internships and cultural events.
