Anti-Racism in Academia (ARiA) Virtual Session: REACH OUT

About this event

**Please register for ONLY ONE session, excess registrations will be cancelled.**
Events are in EASTERN STANDARD TIME.

Inspiring an understanding and inclusive community of professionals first requires examining our own awareness and perspectives. Anti-Racism in Academia (ARiA): A Learning Journey enables you to do that in a safe and courageous environment through small, confidential, virtual discussion sessions that are open to all higher education (or related non-profit organization) employees. ARiA is a 5-part discussion series : Reach Out, Listen, Learn, Act and Persist(#ROLLAP). Learn more at ariajourney.org.

For June, the ARiA presents Part 1: Reach Out, where we explore strategies for proactively and respectfully engaging in meaningful dialogue with people from different racial backgrounds than our own.

During registration, there will be 2 types of program experiences to choose from:

  • The “cohort” experience - a fixed group of facilitators and attendees will remain together for all 5 monthly topics of the #ROLLAP program. This is a 5 topic + (5) 90-minute sessions over 5 months commitment.
  • The “a l a carte” experience - attendees participate in the current month's topic without committing to attend the upcoming months' topics. This is a 1 topic + (1) 90-minute session commitment.
