Event description

Description

This is the perfect 3-hour traning prior to our Creative Faciltiation Intensive Workshop!

Sick Muse Art Projects partners with arts and non-arts organizations to deliver workshops for artists and arts facilitators wanting to engage in practices that acknowledge and respect peoples individualities and identities. We engage artists in conversations that explore individual and systematic power . We believe that as artists supporting and working in communities we hold a social and civic responsibility to create safe spaces where all people have access to opportunities and to reach their potentials.

Our Partner for this training is Community Impact Non- Profit Consulting. Community Impact Non-Profit Consulting strategically enables community engagement and equitable innovation. Founded by Parul Pandya, an experienced non-profit leader, educator and creative influencer; exchanges will empower you to deliver the programs and services that support building healthier, more vibrant and resilient communities. Communities always come first when it comes to striving for collective and meaningful impact.

Anti-Oppression & Cultural Competence in Facilitation Training is a 3-hour professional development opportunity ideal for artists, arts facilitators, arts, culture and community workers looking to continue a more inclusive practice.

As arts educators, facilitators, and those working in and with communities, we all have a responsibility to treat others with dignity, respect and equality. We carry the responsibility to challenge discriminative actions, behaviours, language, policies and procedures. In order to do that , we require to undertand not only the concept but also to adopt a practice that works towards equity and justice.
