Anthem 2018

Love Has A Name

“For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels,

nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers,

nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able

to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

This year’s Anthem conference is as much a time to gather and connect young people, ages 6th grade to 21, together in our region as it is a time to equip and send out teens and young adults with one clear message:

“Love has a name, and His name is Jesus.”

In the Vineyard, we are pursuing empowered evangelicalism through the equipping of the saints and the power of the Holy Spirit, and we believe that equipping and empowerment is meant for all people young, old, and in-between. We believe this young generation can use the ceiling of our previous generation as their floor as they carry and share the message of hope in Jesus throughout their lives!

My wife Zoe and I, along with our friends Jake Schwein, Kim Copple, Jace Schwartz, and Becca Brainerd hope that you will join us this year as we grow together with our youth toward ministering to and sharing the love of Jesus to our Northwest region.

Tucker Arnold - NW Regional Youth Leader

Included in this year's cost is a lunch at Quarnberg Park directly behind Vancouver Vineyard on Saturday of the conference, snacks throughout the weekend, as well as childcare for all leaders with kids

(children age 10 and under are free).

SPEAKERS:

Meet Jace Schwartz. After getting his Bachelor's in biblical studies from Warner Pacific College, he went on to snag his Master's at Western Seminary. Currently, Jace, his wife Mikaila and their baby girl Liv reside in Vancouver, Washington and serve on the pastoral team at Vancouver Vineyard Church. Jace is particularly passionate about biblical education and serving God's people by exposing them to the beauty of Scripture. On a sunny day, the Schwartz family can be found in the garden, and on a rainy day they can be found at the movies. Fun facts: he knows the map of Middle-earth better than he knows the map of the United States, he's also applied for the show 'Survivor' three times and still holds out hope that they might call him back one day.

Kim Copple currently serves on the board and leadership team at Salem Vineyard Church, while also leading Salem’s women’s ministry. Kim previously worked for Hope Pregnancy Clinic in Salem as the Community Development and Client Services Director and was also previously a part of the Marion/Polk County taskforce combating human and sex trafficking. One thing Kim is passionate about is seeing lives transformed through the power of Jesus Christ and not simply experiencing that transformation as an end to itself but living that out in actions of mercy. To participate with Jesus in alleviating human suffering is the call Kim believes of every follower of Jesus. It’s our joy, in community, to discover what our unique expression of that looks like. Kim is also passionate to grow and challenge our understanding that each of us are created as image bearers of God. We were thoughtfully designed first in the mind and heart of God long before we were part of this world. And that makes us worth dying for. Kim and her husband Duane have been married for 34 years, and love spending time with their the children and six grandkids.

Meet Becca Brainerd! As a graduate of Multnomah University, Becca began her ministry career as a youth pastor in Portland. For the last three years, she and her husband Tyler have been a part of Oasis Vineyard in Hermiston, Oregon. Becca serves as a part of the teaching team, leadership team, garden ministry, and plays drums on the worship team. During the week she teaches special education at a local elementary school and just finished her Master of Arts in Teaching. Becca loves to be hands-on and get creative while baking, hand-lettering, and crocheting.

Jake Schwein is one of the Campus Pastors at Grace Chapel where he oversees worship and justice. He has been at Grace Chapel for 17 years. In addition to leading worship at Grace Chapel, Jake leads the ideation, planning and execution of all creative design. He is also responsible for the Sunday morning worship experience and helps create, plan and execute all elements. Jake oversees all of the domestic and international compassion/justice ministries at Grace Chapel. He was instrumental in opening Grace Chapel’s community outreach center called The Heart of the City. He is a speaker and worship leader at workshops, seminars and other churches, and helps take thoughts from ideation to creation to allow others to reach their full potential. Jake is married to Carol and has three incredible children; Josiane, Josiah and Jaelyn.
