Anthem 2019

Made For More

“Now is the time for us to progress beyond the basic message of Christ and advance into perfection. The foundation has already been laid for us to build upon: turning away from our dead works to embrace faith in God, teaching about different baptisms, impartation by the laying on of hands, resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. So with God’s enablement we will move on to deeper truths.” Hebrews 6:1-3

Our focus at Anthem this year is to continue speaking truth and life into the young people (ages 11-21) of the Northwest about their identity and who they are being made to be. That they aren’t just another generation trying to get by and get right with God, but that the Holy Spirit is moving and active, leading them into an empowered life of dreaming and thriving with God.

We believe that because we are made in the likeness of God, we are made for more than just a status quo Christianity, and the life of Jesus is the ultimate example of the more God has for each of us.

The Vineyard Northwest Region, along with our friends Becky Johnson, Jimmy John Morris, and Glenn Schroder hope that you will join us this year as we grow together with our youth toward ministering to and sharing the love of Jesus to our Northwest region.

- Tucker and Zoe Arnold

SPEAKERS:

Glenn Schroder has been a part of the Vineyard movement since it’s beginning’s in 1976, when he started attending a little home group in Yorba Linda that eventually became the Anaheim Vineyard. He and his wife Donna had traveled with John Wimber and Lonnie Frisbee on several early ministry trips including 2 months in Johannesburg South Africa in 1982 to help plant the first Vineyard Church in Africa. Glenn served as the youth and young adults pastor in Anaheim from 1984-1996, and helped to organize and lead the early Doin’ the Stuff National Youth Conferences. He also launched and led the Vineyard USA Youth Ministry Task Force from 1998-2006. In 1996 he and Donna were sent out to plant Portland Vineyard, where they have served since.

Glenn served as the partnership leader for the Nicaragua partnership from 2005-2016, and is currently the regional coordinator for Vineyard Missions USA in Mexico and Central America. He and Donna have 4 adult children and 5 grandchildren, all of whom live in the Portland area. He is an avid reader, enjoys kayaking with Donna, Blazer basketball and loves to cook, especially if it involves fire and meat.

Becky Johnson is the Youth Pastor of Jesus Culture Sacramento, where she lives to see students encounter the raw power and extreme love of God that changed her own life as a teenager. Growing up in the Midwest she moved to California and attended the Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry before she began working with Jesus Culture in 2010. She and her husband, Jesus Culture artist and worship leader, Derek Johnson, have two children and reside in Northern California.

Zoe Arnold is a youth and worship leader at Portland Vineyard Church in Oregon, as well as the co-leader of Youth and Young Adults for Vineyard Northwest Region with her husband, Tucker. Zoe was raised in the Vineyard movement before becoming a worship leader at a local church in Daphne Alabama where she grew up. At seventeen, she moved to California to attend the Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry where she was involved with worship teams at the school all three of her years there. Zoe believes in empowering, equipping, and inspiring young leaders to become all of who God has called them to be. Zoe and Tucker currently reside in southwest Portland.

Jimmy John Morris is a non-hyped, down-to-earth follower of Jesus and has been serving in the Vineyard since 1992. A graduate from Bakke graduate University in Seattle, Washington completing a Masters of  Arts in Global Urban Leadership, Jimmy John is currently the Senior Pastor at Mountain Vineyard in Kent, WA. He has also invested in youth ministry for over fifteen years and has served the Vineyard NW Regional Leadership team on the youth task force, worship task force, as an area pastoral coordinator, and as a missions coach. Prior to serving in the Vineyard, he was a professional musician and an educator. Jimmy John was born and raised in Seattle Washington and he and his wife are excited about being back home in the Northwest.
