Another Level: A Monthlong Conversation about Antiracist Education In Action
When: Tuesdays, April 25, May 2, 9, & 16, 2023, 7-8:15pm eastern time
Following a successful and inspiring monthlong of dialogue in November 2022 among Cornelius Minor, Yolanda Sealey-Ruiz, Cheryl Matias, and Paul Gorski all together for four evenings of deep, intimate, real conversations about key topics related to antiracism in education, we decided to come back together in 2023 to discuss what antiracist education looks like in action, in practice. (Click those names if you want to learn more about us.)
Each week, one of us will lead the other three in a conversation on a topic of their choice related to antiracism in education. But this month we will focus more on the practice of antiracism in education. What does an antiracist curriculum look like? What does redistributing power in a clasroom or centering student voices really look like with an antiracist lens?
We will be in dialogue for 40-45 minutes, then open the conversation to the audience, responding to comments and questions. All session are recorded in case you have to miss one or all of them live. Participants receive a 5-hour certificate of completion.
That's all four of us each week.
We will post the exact questions for each week soon. Stay tuned!
