About this event
History
- Hosted by City of Enid at Oakwood Country Club (OCC) for more than 30 years
- Sponsors include Enid AFA Chapter, Enid Auto Dealers, and many local businesses
Format
- Tim (the OCC Pro) will assign players to teams
- Breakfast served beginning at 0630
- Shotgun start at 0800
- Teams consist of 1 community/business leader and 3 base personnel
Priority if a lot of players sign up
- Priority for base personnel is active duty, guard, reserve, military retirees, then veterans
- Allows for social interaction between base personnel and community leaders
Additional info:
- Refreshment cart during play is paid for by a sponsor
- Hole prizes sponsored for about 14 of the 18 holes
- Hors d’ is sponsored by AFA after play
- Awards ceremony pays all hole prizes as well as 1st , 2nd & 3rd place team prizes
- All prizes are certificates for merchandise from the clubhouse at OCC
Registration
- Base personnel pay at the time of registration
- They are charged $60 which includes Breakfast, Green Fees, Cart Rental, Team
- Prizes, Hole Prizes, Beverages and Hors d’ oeuvres after play
- Vance golfers who are members at OCC do not pay registration fees; their OCC account will be charged just the cost of breakfast and cart rental, but let George Pankonin know and he will add you manually to the list.
Summary
This annual scramble provides a venue for base personnel to interact with community and business leaders in a social activity. It also provides an opportunity for base personnel who are not OCC members to play a round of golf at one of the finest golf courses in northwest Oklahoma.
