About this Event

We are combining the picnic and spotter social this year due to the construction at the NWS. Due to the combination of these events, we are able to provide you with a delicious catered meal and interesting program about storm photography!

REGISTRATION REQUIRED FOR LUNCH BY TUESDAY, OCTOBER 8 DUE TO CATERER REQUIREMENTS)

Lunch - Pulled Pork & Turkey OR Veggie Wrap; cheesy au gratin potatoes; green beans; cole slaw; fruit; rolls; lemonade; cake.

Program - How to Successfully Capture Weather While Spotting (Jarrod Schoenecker): Learn how to accomplish capturing the amazing weather you see as a spotter on video and in photography, as well as learning some common mistakes and remedies for them.

Jarrod Schoenecker has been a storm chaser for 20 years, SKYWARN spotter for 13, and spotter trainer for 4. He is the current president and newsletter editor of the Twin Cities Meteorological Society and an at-large board member for Metro Skywarn. His video and photos can be seen in some of the National Weather Services offices training materials, including the Twin Cities, as well as occasionally on national and local media. He operates the website WallCloudChaser.com and resides in New Prague, Minnesota.
