Event description

Description

Ramadan is the holy month of fasting and spiritual renewal for Muslims worldwide. Tens of thousands of American Muslims belonging to one of the nation’s oldest Muslim organizations, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA, will observe Ramadan across 76 chapters nationwide this year.

Ramadan last for one whole Lunar month and is followed by Eid-ul-Fitr (Muslim Festival Marking end of Ramadan). During Ramadan, Muslims abstain from food and drink from dawn to sunset. Fasting, practiced in every major religion, is a time to reflect, repent, and become spiritually pure, which, in turn, helps lead to societal peace, increased charity and service to the poor. It has been practice of Jesus, Moses and many Biblical Prophets.

On June 9, we as members of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community from Masroor Mosque are holding first Interfaith Ramadan Dinner at our newly acquired Mosque. Community members will gather at sunset to break their fast as part of the typical Iftar dinner service. The public is also welcome to join their neighboring Muslims to partake in Ramadan festivities. Historically similar events are typically well received and attended by guests from various backgrounds including civic leadership, public officials, law enforcement officers, neighbors, friends of the community and more.

On behalf of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community from Masroor Mosque I am writing to formally invite you at this unique Interfaith Iftar Dinner, an evening of love, faith, diversity and unity on Saturday June 9 at 7:30 P.M.
