Event description

Description

The United Religious Community of St. Joseph County (URC) hosts the local observance of the National Day of Prayer. This year's theme will look at how mistrust and fear among different religious and cultural traditions is overcome. Our speaker, Donald Knebel, is a founding member of the board of the Center for Interfaith Cooperation in Indianapolis, and has talked extensively to groups about the ways in which religious traditions and their texts provide for common ground, understanding and collaboration.

Participatnts will be welcomed by civic leaders from Mishawaka and South Bend, enjoy breakfast, hear citing of prayers offered in multiple traditions and languages, and hear Mr. Knebel's timely talk.

After the event, there will be time for queistions and follow up on current local projects concerning immigration, refugees and other items of interfaith interest.

For more information, please contact John Pinter, 574-282-2397 x 3, or jpinter@urcsjc.org.
